Kuszczak: At the ready

The goalkeeper has not a made first-team appearance for Manchester United this season and was fourth choice at Old Trafford behind David de Gea, Anders Lindegaard and Ben Amos.

He completed a loan move to Watford on Tuesday and he is in line to make his debut for Sean Dyche's side against promotion hopefuls Southampton on Saturday.

Kuszczak is looking forward to his time at Vicarage Road and hopes the loan spell will secure his place in Poland's squad for the summer's European Championship.

"I really miss the feeling of a matchday when you're involved," Kuszczak told the club's official website.

"Where Watford were in the Championship table never crossed my mind. I knew this to be a good club and I didn't have to think long at all about coming down here.

"Football is my passion, not just a job. That's why I'm here. Watford is my club, my team now.

"This seems like a club with young players and young staff taking their work seriously. Let's see how much I can help in my time here.

"I want to have a chance of being involved in the Euros in my home country this summer, so I need to be out there playing so everyone can see I'm fighting fit and still very hungry.

"I'm grateful to Watford for the chance and hopefully this can benefit both sides."

his is for the best, his hunger would be in serious question now after winning everything with us. A true Chelsea legend, up there with Osgood and Zola, come back and see us now and then Didier. And as Martin Tyler said on Saturday night....he is immortal at Chelsea. What a way to go out eh....Good luck big man wherever you land next.

ne of the many delights of the final few seconds of the season was seeing little Mike Owen with his trackie off and full replica kit on, getting ready to celebrate having contributed NOTHING all season. Would have been on a par with Terry's carry-on in Munich.
