Capello and Football Association chairman David Bernstein are expected to try to draw a line under the fall-out.
Capello publicly criticised the FA's decision earlier this week but the disagreement does not appear likely to threaten his position as England manager ahead of the European Championships.
Former FA executive director David Davies had suggested that Capello may be in breach of his contract by criticising his employers.
Bernstein and Capello are due to meet at Wembley Stadium, where they both have offices.
Bernstein is expected to explain in detail the reasons behind the FA's decision to go over Capello's head and remove the captaincy from Terry until after the Chelsea defender's court case in July, where he will deny a charge of racially abusing QPR's Anton Ferdinand.
The FA chairman took the decision on Friday after consulting with all members of the 14-strong FA board, saying it was in the interests of everybody, especially during the high-profile Euro 2012 tournament, that Terry was not England captain.
Bernstein has not conducted a similar consultation process with board members ahead of the meeting with Capello however - something he would feel obliged to do if there was an intention to take any drastic action. He has, however, had messages of support from a number of board members that they will continue to back him strongly over the Terry issue.
Capello is understood to have no intention of quitting ahead of Euro 2012 - his contract ends after the tournament anyway.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes it is vital that Capello and the FA sort out their differences.
Ferguson told CNN: "There has to be some communication regarding the issue. I know Fabio has been abroad but he's back now so the next few days should reveal everything.
"It's a difficult situation for both sides. When you are the manager of a team and have a captain that is an important part of that team then you don't want to lose him, so I can understand there's a lot of discussion and controversy about it."
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has backed Capello and insisted the Italian had every right to make his unhappiness known.
Capello told Italian TV that he "absolutely" disagreed with the action by the FA.
Villas-Boas said: "He has the right to his opinion and to share that defence with the player."
