Silvio Berlusconi: Convinced Milan are superior to Juve

Silvio Berlusconi: Convinced Milan are superior to Juve

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi believes his side is the team to beat in Italy.

The Rossoneri go into Sunday's game at relegation-threatened Cesena with a full head of steam after Wednesday's demolition of Arsenal in the Champions League.

In Serie A, Milan are one point clear of Juventus, although the Turin outfit has a game in hand.

"We've never had a doubt about our chances to win the league title for the second consecutive season," Berlusconi said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We are convinced that we are superior to Juventus, without disrespecting them."

The Rossoneri, coached by Massimiliano Allegri, have certainly been impressive.

They won 3-1 last week at Udinese and followed that up with the 4-0 first-leg triumph over Arsenal in their Champions League last-16 tie.

"This is the first step," Berlusconi said. "But we have to take another step in the return leg in London next month."

In the meantime, the Rossoneri must prepare for a challenging schedule in Italy which sees them visiting Juventus after the Cesena clash.

Juventus are unbeaten but host Catania after two straight draws, including Wednesday's goalless result at Parma.

Lazio are third and four points behind Juventus. The Biancoceleste take on Palermo at La Favorita looking to end their rivals' three-match winning streak at home.

Last weekend's defeat to Milan was Udinese's first this season in Serie A at the Friuli stadium, the venue for Sunday's game against Cagliari.

Udinese will be without Serie A's top scorer Antonio Di Natale, who is out with a foot injury.

Napoli, who host Chelsea in the Champions League next week, ended a five-game winless run with a 2-0 triumph over Chievo on Monday.

The Naples outfit faces a test in Tuscany on Friday against a Fiorentina side that has won their last two games.

Also on Friday, Inter Milan will look to stop the rot when they take on Bologna at the San Siro.

Claudio Ranieri's Inter have mustered just one point in their last four league games.

Last weekend's 1-0 defeat at bottom side Novara dropped the Nerazzurri to fifth in the standings.

Roma are one point behind Inter and will look to end Parma's five-match unbeaten run when the two sides meet at the Stadio Olimpico.

Genoa and Chievo will battle at the Luigi Ferraris stadium with both teams attempting to avoid their third straight defeat.

Chievo are three points behind mid-table Genoa.

Siena travel to 18th-placed Lecce on Sunday trying to put some more distance between themselves and the bottom three.

The Tuscan outfit beat Roma 1-0 on Monday to climb five points clear of the relegation zone.

Novara go into Sunday's game against Atalanta on the back of the triumph at Inter, their first win since November 26.

The result left the last-placed team in Italy six points from safety.

here has only been 3 players who made me hold my breath in dread when they picked the ball up anywhere near our penalty area...in their prime Scholes and Giggs... and always Drogba. Awesome player who on his day was the best striker in the world in my opinion.

remember him scoring a 25-yarder, either the season just gone or the one before, against Bolton at the Reebok. I've never seen a ball hit that hard before in my entire life. You could almost feel the shockwave from his foot contacting it 40 yards away in the stands. Didier Droga. You might not have loved him, but you just had to be in awe of him.

den Hazard, def. - 1) that girl in a club who makes eyes at you all night, who allows you to buy her a drink and walk her home arm in arm, who then gives you a suggestive kiss on her doorstep before declaring how tired she is and how she has to be up early the next day. 2) A cock tease.
