Santi Cazorla would relish the chance to represent Spain at this summer's European Championships amid talk of a shock call-up for the Villarreal midfielder.
Reports in the Spanish media on Thursday suggested the 23-year-old was in line for a possible place in Luis Aragones' 23-man Euro 2008 squad, which is now being named on Saturday after being postponed for 24 hours due to the death of team doctor Genaro Borras.
Cazorla, who has yet to win a Spain cap, said: "If Luis calls me up it would be a dream. If there are rumours about this then it already makes me proud. I would give up my holidays and whatever to be able to participate in an event like this."
If Cazorla does earn a shock summons from Aragones, then it would be the reward for a remarkable season with Villarreal, who have guaranteed themselves a top-two finish for the first time in the club's history.
"I am very happy at Villarreal - I am at the second best team in Spain," he added.
"There is an incredible group of people here and that is noticed on the pitch.
"The calmness and humility that we have at this club gives us a lot of confidence for when we go out to play. I hope we can finish the season with a victory in La Coruna (against Deportivo)."
