Harry Redknapp - side still have big chance.

SPURS STILL HAVE BIG CHANCE - REDKNAPP

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp thinks his side still have a 'big chance' of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, but believes Liverpool are now favourites.

Spurs surrendered fourth spot in the Premier League to Liverpool over the weekend as the Reds won the Merseyside derby and Redknapp's team were held by Villa, who also want to break the Big Four cartel.

This season has delivered a seemingly unending string of bizarre results, with every top-flight club's form fluctuating at some point, while Manchester City lost at relegation candidates Hull City on Saturday to dent their own top-four hopes.

Redknapp has acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the campaign, however, the Spurs boss remains confident regarding the chances of his team, whose only defeat in 12 games in all competitions came at Liverpool in January.

He told Sky Sports News ahead of Wednesday's trip to drop-zone occupants Wolves: "We're still right there. Manchester City got beat at Hull on Saturday. It's hard to win games, it's not easy.

"We have been in great form. We have had one defeat in 12 games now. I can't complain.

"We have been good to watch. We have played some great football. Everyone is at the peak of their form so we have got a big chance still.

"There is no guarantee we are going to make it, it is going to be difficult we know that.

"Liverpool are back in. At the start of the year nobody would have seen them outside the top four so it is going to be hard to finish above them to start with.

"But we are in there with a chance, which is good."

Peter Crouch has suggested former club Liverpool, traditional members of the top four, are now in the driving seat as Rafa Benitez's side prepare to travel to Spurs' North London rivals Arsenal on Wednesday night.

And Redknapp has echoed the sentiments of his striker, saying when asked if the Reds were favourites to finish fourth: "I would say they probably are.

"Ourselves, City, Villa are all there pushing. It is going to be tight but we have still got a big chance."

"I think most sane spurs fans would have been happy to finish top 6 at the start of the season and so far we are on track for that. We've been in 4th for so long due to the incompetance of other teams (mainly Liverpool) which has raised expectations and things unfortunately for us are starting to resume normal business as far as the top 4 goes.

Its Harry's first full season and we've made progress but we're still not the finished article so lets see what happens in his 2nd full season (and no thats not a "next season is ours" statement but its not stupid to expect more progress)."

"I thought I heard him say only last week that he is gunning for third spot?"
