BALE TO BARCA?
After playing an influential role in Tottenham's success this season, Gareth Bale has drawn the attention of European champions Barcelona.
The Catalans have kept a close eye on the winger, sending out scouts to watch him play on seven occasions.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has insisted that the Welshman is not for sale, but the Spanish giants, who believe his price is more than £40million, look set to test that stance with a player-plus-cash bid at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mirror.
BENT: YOU'RE HAVING A LAUGH
England striker Darren Bent was vigorously linked with a move to Liverpool in the January transfer window, but he insists it was pure gossip.
The 27-year-old, who reached 100 Premier League goals in the 2-2 draw with QPR in midweek, admitted it's flattering to be linked with a club like Liverpool, but added that there is no truth to the rumours.
"It was laughable. I always knew I was going to be at Villa," he said. "I have said before, I would like to stay at Villa for years and really kick on in my career while playing for Aston Villa."
RUSSIAN SWOOP FOR HEITINGA?
Spartak Moscow are reportedly sniffing around Everton centre-back Johnny Heitinga.
The English clubs may have put the silliness of the January transfer window behind them, but the Russians are still open for business.
According to Russian newspaper Sovietsky Sports, Spartak are keen to kick off their bidding at £4.15m, but it seems unlikely that the Toffees will give up their man so easily, since they won't be able to replace him.
Apparently Spartak remain confident they'll snap up the Dutchman nonetheless.
